Cannot delete Meeting request in Outlook 2007

I received a meeting request and i not able to delete this meeting. I keep on getting "Cannot open meeting item.The operation failed.An object cannot be found." How do i delete this meeting request.

Delegate Status for Calendar Mgmt.

I am currently signed up as a delegate for three other people. I can see their calendar and make changes for them. What I want to know though is if they are invited to attend a mtg. will they receive the invitation? It appears that I am getting the invitation to which to respond.
