capture PLC-data in our LAN

Our PLC-vendor is going to provide us collected PLC-data on a server in our LAN. Are sockets (port higher then 1024) the best way to do this? As we are AS/400-minded people, will FTP resolve this with the same performance? Or are there other possibilities? Please, please, give us some guidelines.

RPG Program calling Java

Ok guys I need some help. Our company just purchased a credit card verification software, its a Java application. I need to have an RPG/ILE program call this JSP passing and returning parms. I know very very little about Java, was wondering if anyone had examples of how to code this. Thanks John

V4R4M0 to V5R3M0

Helping a friend do an install on a new iSeries. They'll restore the old as400 data onto the new as400. Unfortunately, the old system is still on V4R4 and the new system is at V5R3. Are there any problems we need to be aware before transferring the SAVSYS from the old box to the new box?

Too high % temp. addr. in WRKSYSSTS - AS/400 aka iSeries

Can you transfer active jobs to another subsystem?

If a job is already active in one subsystem, can you use tfrbchjob or tfrjob to move into a different job queue to run in a different subsystem, or will you get errors because the job is already active in one subsystem?

Connect to AS/400 from a PC and run User Profiles Initial Program

I'd like to be able to have a user connect via FTP, ect. from a PC to our AS/400, login, and have the user profiles inital program run immediately. We've tried several options, but the initial program doesn't run unless a user signs on to a Session. This is not an option. Can you help? Thanks

Hi, Has reusedlt *yes behavior changed with V5R3? When I add a record to a PF that is reusedlt *yes in V5R2 is uses a record that has been deleted, however when i do the same thing on a V5R3 system it adds a new record rather than re-use one. Anyone run into this before? Thanks, Luis
