• Getting the number of days between two dates in Oracle 11g

I've been trying to find the number of days between two different dates in Oracle 11g. Here's what I have so far: select sysdate - to_date('2009-10-01', 'yyyy-mm-dd') from dual But it keeps returning an interval and I can't cast it to an integer too. Any idea what I should do here?

  • Limit the number of rows returned by an Oracle query

Would there be a way to make an Oracle SQL query behave like it contains a MySQL limit clause? So, for example, here's what I can do in MySQL: select * from sometable order by name limit 20,10 This allows me to get the 21st to the 30th rows (meaning skip the first 20, give the next 10). The rows...

In one of my fields, I don't need to store a datetime pair (basically not the standard Oracle date). Just like this: 01/10/2009 22:10:39 I only need the time specifically. 22:10:39 Since I have two million records, I think this will help provide faster processing. Thanks!
