Migration of Oracle Database in 10g R2

Sir,
I have exported a dump file using Oracle8i Release 8.1.6.0.0. I wish to import this dump file (.dmp) in Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2.0)

Please suggest me the procedure to this.

Suggestions for modern replacement of AS/400

We are looking to retire our AS/400 machine, what is a suitable replacement? Our aging AS/400 machine is on its last legs. What modern system is a good fit? We have Oracle data on it for our front end server. Everything is backed up to tape library.

ORA-01033 : Oracle startup or shutdown in progress

We are getting this error while accessing the Database. Tried restarting the server and “the alter database open” command throws error:

ORA-01122: database file 6 failed verification check ORA-01110: data file 6:

‘G:ORACLE102DBCITI10DATAQCSITEADMIN’ ORA-01251: Unknown File Header Version read for file

number 6

Deploying Oracle Database

I do have a database BankDB created on oracle 10g. I want to move this database into another machine. In SQL, you know we use attach and dettach to move databases. How could I do this in the oracle 10g? I’m waiting for your help. Thanks a lot
