I’m currently a senior Finance major and am in the midst of interviewing with a firm in DC for a consulting position in the financial services industry to act as an SAP and Oracle consultant. As my background is in Finance, I have several questions about the field, career options, and career growth:
what should be expected as a starting salary as an SAP/Oracle Consultant?
What is the demand right now for consultants– are companies in need/will continue to need these services from outside consultants?
What are future career options after acting as an Associate/Sr Consultant for several years? (Where else are these skills transferable to, management roles from this experience, etc)
What are the top firms that employ SAP/Oracle Consultants?

this is avishek here. Well i am a graduate with BCA.
i want to make a career on database track.
so i did oracle 10g DBA course as well as am strong in sql and pl/sql programming…

i have done my sl,pl/sql training from SQL STAR INTERNATIONAL.
i got the certificate from ORACLE UNIVERSITY when i finished nad wrote the exam for the same.
so can i count it as ORACLE certified course as i got it through SQL STAR INTERNATIONAL.

Apart from this i want to go for oracle forms and reports..
is there any chances to get a job in this field for graduates?? freshers??

please guide me what should i do for a good career..

The platform of ERP/Product is totally different from SAP/Oracle/Navision etc therefore i can not shift/change the job for growht becuase my product knowledge is not acceptlable by other vendors , inthis case i am thinking to do SAP Certification course so i can get more good options. Second, instead of investing this huge money i have an offer from a BPM(Business process management) company, i would request you kindly suggest me should i join the BPM profile comp or i should do SAP certification
