We are getting this error while accessing the Database. Tried restarting the server and “the alter database open” command throws error:

ORA-01122: database file 6 failed verification check ORA-01110: data file 6:

‘G:ORACLE102DBCITI10DATAQCSITEADMIN’ ORA-01251: Unknown File Header Version read for file

number 6

Please help

most of our databases are on Oracle 9i. Suddenly i’m not able to start oracle or use any application that uses oracle, though all related services are working.
i’m getting the error : ora-01033 oracle initialization or shutdown in progress
i tryed to connect as sysdba but the user i’ve been given the password has not this priviledge and no one knows the sysdba user or password.

Please Help

Oracle initialization error while running Java files

I am facing no issues while compiling the java file. However while running the same, I am facing the following error.

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress.

Any pointers for the same?

ORA-01033 and from I understand from reading posts..i’m to log in as sys/password as sysdba.

When I do this, sqlplus is returning the error message:
ORA -01031 Insufficient privileges. I’ve tried several different usernames…but SYS should work as i’ve used this many many times in the past “as sysdba”.

Does anyone know what to do in this case?
