Dear Expert(s),

I am in search of a manner to update a limited number of datafields (<5) forth and back between a JAVA/Postgresql based solution and a legacy Niakwa NPL Basic2C program using C-ISAM tables.

I wouldn’t try to access the C-ISAM files directly as they are constantly being used by the Basic2C program (together with record locking principles etc).

Though I am not a niakwa/basic2c programmer, I did manage to add some code (whow, what an IDE!) and execute shell command after the save command has been called, that passes through the stringvariables I need to a plain text file output (that the JAVA solution can pick up pretty easily), but I want to have some opinions on howto realising the opposite.

What would be a considerably good method ?

Or, could anybody help me with some resources that might be of assistance ? (googling for Basic2C / NPL guides/info/etc virtually gives no results). I think it is a fairly extinguished language…

Thank you for your advice!
