We are a medical facility, under HIPAA regulations, that has a need to securely provide access to resources internally on our workgroup network to users outside the network. How could we share a file/folder so that people internally can use the file/folder but also allow outside users to the same resource for daily work? Please advice.

I have a company workgroup were XP/7 PCs map back to a shared printer on a Win7 PC. The other PCs seem to be losing connection to the printer and get offline messages on regular bases. What should I check to fix this? I understand that each PC should have the same user account/password; I should check that the host PC has USB power management turned off… What else?

What is the easiest way to share a spreadsheet between multiple users in Excel?If I am setup in a work group environment and need multiple users to use the same spreadsheet, I know you can do the “select Share Workbook under the Tools menu” but how does that affect saving edits for each user if it is open by another user? What other options are available?

Lotus Domino in a workgroup

We recently purchased Lotus Domino and installed the server on a workgroup. We are able send email out but not receive it and the following error message inexplicably shows up:

“Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
fmc_admin/FMC@fmungereza.co.ug

Is it possible to set up Lotus in a workgroup? The company has a few computers so their domain is actually WORKGROUP.

workgroup is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource. contact the admin of this server to find it.?

Hello. when I want to see the entire network and brows the list of computers(Entire Network->Microsoft windows network->Domain) in the domain it says “you don’t have permission to use this network resource”!!?? wat is the problem. please help me?

Can’t use database within Workgroup with Windows XP clients

I am in charge of 10 computers and a server, I have them all on a workgroup and i can only use the database application installed on the server on the older computers. I try to use the same program on win xp but it says that the program is outside of the local intranet or on a untrusted source so access will not open the file. I don’t want to change anything unneccessarily but i’m desperate!

I set up a software programme on server 2003 and used it on workstation by workgroup set up instead of domain.there seems to be lot of errors coming with use of the software mostly on server,which is non dedicated. Would domain solve this problem?
