Why IPv6 is not being used more often
Good question and I guess there are many different answers, depending on who you are talking about. In many cases people don’t really analyze the situation or buy in for the belief that there is no need to look at IPv6 for different reasons, such as having enough IPv4 addresses, thinking that IPv6 will not [...]

Can I buy an IPv6 address?
Hi The place to go to for getting IPv6 addresses is your ISP. He will assign a block to you out of his range. For very large global companies in certain cases it is possible to get a block from ARIN directly, but only under certain conditions. Silvia

Can an IPv6 address be spoofed?
Hi Yes. In most cases the same type of attacks can be done in an IPv6 network like in an IPv4 network. Sometimes the tools are a little different. So spoofing can be done with IPv6 and can even be a little more complicated to detect/identify, because an IPv6 interface usually has multiple addresses. Silvia

Extending wireless internet across large property
You know, you don’t have to have the repeater right next to the pool to provide service to the pool area. Check the range of the repeater and put it in a nearby location that is covered and safe. The specs of the repeater will tell you the range.

Sharing our internet connection by turning a server into a hotspot
First, I’d never use a wireless connection for a server. I’ll always hard wire the server to at least a switch and use that for other machines that are stationary as well. I still believe that wireless connections are not stable enough, nor secure enough to be used for a valuable resource such as a [...]

Internet access on Hyper-V Private/Internal Networks?
VMware doesn’t handle any routing or NAT for you. You would need to provide a router for that. You could setup a VM running Linux and set that up as a router, or if you prefer Windows you could setup a VM running Windows and install ISA on it and use that to allow Internet [...]

Can other users access the iSeries when VPNed in? It could be that the iSerier isn’t configured to allow access from the IP subnet which is used for the VPN. Given that the iSeries appears to have a public IP address I would assume only specific subnets can access it.
