INTERNET HOOKUP (36+ locations with On-Line Access)
You’ve not really supplied enough information, and based on what you’ve asked, and how you’ve asked it, I would guess that you’re in unfamiliar territory. But to start with… You don’t say where you are geographically – unless you go with a national carrier, it’s hard to predict, and even then, your mileage will vary. [...]

INTERNET HOOKUP (2)
Probably not a good idea to mount hardware sub-table. recommend all-in-one units like IBM netvista, with limited HD. You don’t want to encourage local storage. As far as speed, unless you are gaming, then concentrate on high memory, high memory display card, and good bandwidth.

IP Addressing
Ideally it should NOT cause you any communication problems, if you keep using the same IP Address, and only change the mask. The problem will occure though, if you start assigning new addresses from the expanded range at the same time. I would recommend you to use an entirely new range, and configure a secondary [...]

Packeteer vs. CheckPoint Floodgate for bandwidth management
Floodgate is not worth its price in money. While it does feel good, being able to control the traffic at the firewall level, Floodgate fails in reporting. If you refer the brochure, you can see, it can do a lot of stuff about reporting. However, Floodgate only provides limited reporting functionality (top 10/20 whatever). However, [...]

Satellite DW6000 with Wireless Router G.
The only manner in which the Satellite could be issuing DHCP leases is if the system has a server operating system running on, such as Linux, 2000 Server, or another third party DHCP server. What type of router is issuing the DHCP leases?

Load Balancing 2 T1′s with Cisco 2600
The 2 static routes going to each of the ISPs with the same cost should be all that is required to load balance. One way to verify this is to shut down one of the serial interfaces and run a ping to a public IP. If the paths were load balancing you’d get a !.!.!.! [...]

Question about ethernet adapters-2
“Broadcast Storm” Either the system can’t get an IP address, or connect to a domain/workgroup thereby sending continuous requests for ‘whois’ OR you have a spambot in the system and every time you turn it on it dumps thousands of e-mail messages. Disconnect the network cable – test the IP number. (IPCONFIG) on a different [...]

Problems backing up NetWare servers with ArcServe
Make sure that the drivers for the backup controller is the newest drivers possible. I have seen this behavior on other ArcServe Backup systems on both Netware and NT backup servers. Everytime the problem was fixed when we upgraded the drivers for the controller card that the tape backup was attached to. Good luck.

Internet connection sharing.
Very Scary. Internet Connection Sharing is based on having TWO network interface cards(NIC). First one being the normal IP address that connects to the “internet” (i.e. has a public address that can be routed). the second card is given a private adress (usually 192.168.1.1) and becomes the gateway for the other machines wishing to connect [...]

Re-install windows and and wait for the second prompt to repair current windows installation. This should overwrite your network components. Then you can get into the IP stack.

Connecting to a satellite uplink through a wireless link between two buildings.-2
OK, When you have a problem like this, you need to look at the basics. Is the wireless link between the buildings a bridge or a router type connection? If the IP subnet is shared between the buildings? If not, then you have a routing situation. In that case, you will easily be able to [...]
