Hello, For college you mean student? The user/person loging in? In an AD environment you can allow a user (or a group of users) in orther that they can only log int in some specific machines. Is this what you’re trying to achieve? Please give some more details.

Your security settings are found on the Linksys admin web page. Log on using the default user name and password provided in the documentation and navigate to the security settings to set up your encryption. You will want to change the default logon and password while you are there as well.

Does Active Directory on Windows server 2008 still require DNS?
AD absolutely still require DNS. It does not have to be on the same machine as a domain controller but it does need a DNS system to talk to.

If you are struggling to run an application on the hardware you have re-provisioning system resources will only be a short term fix. Looking at the spec you put up I would strongly recommend jumping onto the sandy bridge bandwagon. Then you won’t have this issue.

If you are talking about desktop computers then no there is no automated way of doing this. If your talking about servers there are a few ways to do this with certain technologies but if you only have a couple of servers it’s not worth it.
