I have been having this problem on serveral PC’s. I have to setup up a new PC on our network and i am getting a limited connectivity error on the NIC card. I have checked all the setting on the PC. I tride to use another PC and i got the same error. I looked into the SP2 error and the recommended fixes are not helping. We are using DHCP on server 2003. Everytime i plug a new PC into the network i get limited connectivity on the card. I have not even add the PC into the domain. (because I cannot) I gave a static IP and the error went away but i cannot even get out to the internet.
I dont know what else to checkk.

thanx

Recently the application running on one of our clusters had problems when some of the servers had problems accessing the NFS storage. The analysis showed there to be a mismatch between the QFE interfaces and the network protocol. The QFEs were operating at half duplex while the network was expecting full. The cluster servers had been rebooted earlier to facilitate a reconfig on the RAID level. I am trying to find out what was left out when the network cards(QFEs) were setup originally that would not show up for two months (these had been rebooted during the turnover process).

We recently installed a new partition with a 2 port ethernet card. Each port has its own IP address and connections through the network work fine. The problem is that both ports are known to the DNS servers by the one system name so when a DNS name lookup occurs, some users are directed to one port and others to the other. Is there any way on the iSeries we can have the system name attached to 1 port and another name to port 2 without changing the local DNS server settings.
