Fellow experts,

I signed up just a few minutes ago, and hope to become a valuable contributor on this forum, however I need your expertise now… so put on your AD Schema hat…

I have an object class “organizationalPerson” and three optional attributes in the class.

I went into adsiedit and edited the security of those 3 LDAP attributes (removed authenticated users and added a new security group).

The goal is to disallow authenticated users from being able to view the 3 attributes — but without affecting the security of the object class (as other attributes need to be read, I think).

Problem is, even though I set permissions on the 3 attributes in adsiedit.msc, ordinary logged on users can still browse and see the attributes, and their values… Has anyone seen or know of a solution to this?

Using CDC with Directory Assistance using LDAP

Hello,

I have been trying to get this to work for a long time and seem to have hit a brick wall.

I’m trying to setup a Condensed Directory Catalogue that looks at the LDAP query in the Directory Assistance database. I have setup the CDC and this is working I know as I can tell it to run on Names.nsf and it works however when I tell it to use the DA database it does not seem to populate. I know the DA is working OK as I can run a LDAP lookup from a client on our Exchange directory.

Please can someone advise what I need to do to get the CDC to populate with our exchange directory?

Is the use of a AAA Server limited to TACASC+, RADIUS, or Diameter, or is the functionality of AAA met by the seperation of the processes used in AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Auditing).

Example: For remote access to the company network, remote users will access through a SSL VPN, requiring a username/password, which utilizes Active Directory (Kereros) and LDAP authentication methods. Authorization is controlled through role based access for access to specificed resources. Auditing is also tracked by the SSL VPN device, logging date/time, session duration, termination type, etc.

Would that scenerio meet the requirement for AAA? Or does AAA require the use of, as above, TACASC+

dcdiag /s:

sometimes gives me:
Ldap search capabality attribute search failed on server , return value = 81

I’m getting above mentioned error at anytime… and after few minutes it automatically gone.

What could be the problem?
