i work as a network assistant for a research lab in a large company. The research lab includes six computers for which central computing services have located the address space 172.16.1.0/29.i know plan to add 10 new computers to the research network.company policy states that each network is granted address space only according to itsneeds.which network address pattern would i use to install the 10 new computers?

I want to start off by saying Hi this is my first post. I’m desperate for answers and I can’t seem to find anyone that knows this question.

I have 2 Windows 2008 r2 servers.

One is Server1 and the other Server2

I have IPv6 enabled as well as IPv4
Both are set to static address 192.168.0.1. and 192.168.0.2
IPv6 is set to fd00::1 and 2

NETBIOS is DISABLED! This is where I’m confused

I try to find server2 from server1 and get a response back in IPv6 fe80%12

My question is how does it know the address just by typing server2 with Netbios disabled??

I also always get a response fe80 even with Netbios set to default.

My book I’m reading says I should receive a message indicating that the ping request could not find the host. Ipv6 by itself does not facilitate name resolution….

I read that most routers and switches support IPv6, but how they support the protocol differs. The article said that specific network hardware devices have dedicated network processors while others have general purpose processors, which are worse because those forward packets at a slower rate. How can I tell whether the devices on my network support IPv6 in the best way?

We are configuring routers with IPv4 addresses and would like to configure IPv6 address instead of IPv4 for some devices. Please suggest me the best way of doing it and things to be considered (IP validations & subnet Mask, etc) while doing this enhancement.
