Sending iSeries spool files to a network printer

I have a problem whereby my network printer is printing multiple copies of a spool file I have sent to it – it just keeps churning them out.

The printer in question is an OCE’ re-branded multi-function printer. I believe it’s a VL2822C VarioPrint machine.

Has anyone used these to print from an iSeries system? Or are there a set of default settings I should be using when setting up the OUTQ and WRITER descriptions?

Windows Server 2008 network printing error

I periodically get this from Windows XP clients on my network (have yet to see it on a Windows 7 machine) When they go to print sometimes they get Access denied, unable to connect to the printers. If they log off their machine or do a repair on the network connection they are able to print. Any ideas how to solve this? It doesn’t affect most of my XP machines only a few and randomly at that.

This is a domain network (primary DC is Windows 2008 server) the printers are networked printers so the have ports/static IPs assigned to them etc.

I am trying to install xerox workecentre pro 420 connected on network but not able to connect to printer with windows 7 32 bit as OS but works with windows XP.

I set up an OpenVPN server in bridged mode – using tap0 – and client
both running CentOS 4.4. The VPN works perfectly, except for printing
from the client LAN – 10.1.2.x/24 to the server LAN – 10.1.1.x/24. I am
using a HP 1320n network printer with IP 10.1.1.100 on the server side.
I can telnet to the printer’s port 80 from anywhere in the client LAN
without a problem. However, trying to telnet to port 9100 results in a
connection refused error. If I telnet the printer’s port 9100 from the
client side VPN server, it connects without a problem. My vpn iptables
rules on both sides look like this:

iptables -A INPUT -p udp –dport 1194 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A INPUT -i tun+ -j ACCEPT
iptables -A OUTPUT -o tun+ -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -i tun+ -j ACCEPT

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi ,

We have NW printer HP P3005 .I can connnect this from all my windows xp system by installing this printer as network frm the hp driver setuo. and one of my winxp system getting the error messsage .HP P3005 setu encountered a problem ,restart and run setup again.

But the same error is showing after restart.Please help

network printer not working in terminal services

I have an HP Color Laserjet 2600n on our network. I can ping it just fine. I can also print to it from one windows 2000 terminal server but not our second windows 2000 terminal server. It was working fine on terminal server #2 but all of a sudden stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I have deleted and recreated the printer queue with fresh drivers and still nothing. it works fine on terminal server #1 so I tried to map to that printer on terminal server #2 and it doesn’t work that way either. any ideas?? both terminal servers are on the same subnet. printer is on a different subnet.
