Using mnotes5 http://www.commontime.com/ you should be able to use any existing Windows Mobile Device version 5 or better. That means you can use a HTC Diamond, Touch PRO or a Touch HD. Check it out.

Java is the way to go for me. I find most of the apps i use are Java based.
