The trouble is that the default setting on all these documents has different first page selected. So...

Templates in Microsoft Word 2003

When I load a new Word document, it always appears without the headers and footers in view. I have to click "View, header/footer,close". If I save thsi as a new template, e.g.normal.dot, it does so, but still opens without the headers and ffooters. Really annoying. Any idease? Thnaks
