I have a home network which has 4 PCs and a couple of gaming platforms connected to it. I have a LinkSys 100 cable modem. I DID have two routers connected to it, one from the cable to the first router which fed directly to the main PC about 4 feet away. The other feed was to another router about 40 feet away in the front of my house. I do NOT know the brand of the first router. The second router is a Zonet ZFS 1008. All was working well, until the first router was removed and taken out of the system/house. We reconnected two of the PCs to the second router, and it aint right. We can have either of the PCs go online but not both at the same time. We have tried everything in our reportoirre to get it to work correctly. The ONLY change was the deletion of one router. This system is hard wired ONLY.

We have central email addresses that are distributed to 3-5 inside sales / customer service representatives. A given request will now end up in each person’s individual inbox. Is there a way to tag the email when the first customer service person “takes” it so that all other people on the team know that that request has been picked up. Ideally, I would like to avoid a shared mailbox, but if we did set up a shared inbox for such requests, how would you indicate that you have taken ownership of a given request. Our faxes come in by email as well and it would be good to have some notification that a given fax has been addressed, rather than asking each person or sending an email to each person. I’m wondering what suggestions there might be. Thank you.

I have a domain that includes several Win XP Pro SP3 computers, as well as a few Windows 7 Pro systems. There are 2 servers that are running Server 2008, 3 that are running Server 2003.

The problem I am having started about a week or two ago. The Windows XP computers have no problem at all seeing all the shares on all the servers. The Windows 7 computers have no problem seeing the Server 2008 shares, but at (seemingly) random times they lose the ability to see the Shares on the Server 2003 systems. If I want to map a drive at a time when the Server 2003 shares are not visible, I can still do it by typing the //server/share path and it will work, even if the server does not appear in the selction list.

Thanks,
Flame

A friend asked me to take a look at his laptop that is running too slow lately. It is an old HP Pavilion laptop which is supposed to have 512 MB of RAM, but Windows is only seeing 256 MB. The BIOS is reporting all 512 MB, and a memtest86 test tested 512 MB as well. Although I appreciate [strong]any[/strong] suggestion, I’m not looking for suggestions on how to speed a low-resource machine up. I’m just having trouble making Windows recognize the whole RAM, so I am asking for recommendations or opinions regarding that specific problem. I don’t have much information about this machine, so I don’t know when or how this started. Event logs don’t show anything related to this. I think that maybe reinstalling/repairing the Windows installation [strong]could[/strong] help, but I would like to avoid doing that unless it is absolutely necessary. It is an HP Pavilion dv5220LA machine with an AMD turion 64, running Windows XP professional SP2. It has 128 MB of video memory, and the main memory is not being shared with video. I have not had the time to open the machine to look at the physical memory modules, but I expect to do that tomorrow night. Thanks, CarlosDL
