Printer logon script not running on Windows 7 Pro machines?

Hi, I created 2 GPO’s (both logon scripts: 1 for mapping network drives,
the other for installing our network printers). When I log into Windows
XP Pro machines, both scripts run fine. However, when I log into a Win 7
Pro machine, only the mapping drive script runs, the printer script
does not. I turned off UAC and gave local admin rights but the script
still doesn’t run. Running the printer script manually does install the
printers on the Win 7 machines but obviously I want to avoid doing this.

Can anyone offer any insight?

Sync Workstation Client time with Server on same domain

Hi

i have looked throughout the internet for this and i cannot find anything on my problem

I want to be able to sync the time of my workstation clients on the domain to my server on the same domain using group policy. Im having issues with clients behind on time.

I can see in my group policy object window for my specific gpo to be applied

Computer configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > system > windows time service > time providers

I have tried alsorts to get clients to update using my server

I hope some one can help me put me out of my misery and it has to be in plain english as my brain is now mush

i hope someone can help me

Sleep Button Action Setting

Hi there

I work as a IT Tech within a school environment, im running windows server 2008 r2 with windows 7 proffesional clients

unfortunitly our keyboards in school have the dreaded “sleep” button on them to put the machine to sleep. which is annoying i have checked on the physical machine i can stop this using the advanced settings in power options, but with the amount of computers this would be physically draining, so there must be a way of setting this in gpo

when i goto the gpo on the server

Computer > Control Panel Settings > Power Options

if i goto the power buttons and lid option the “Sleep Button Action” option is not available in the list.

there must be a way of disabling this button on the keyboard through out school wether it be a registry edit or a gpo ???

can some one help me before these kids drive me nuts lol

Windows 7 Professional permissions

Howdy

I backed up my documents to an external Hdd before re-installing windows 7 pro on my pc with no problems.But now i cannot restore my backup,i get ‘access denied’ error, I can open folders but the files i cannot.I tried granting my self permmissions but it’s not helping.Pls help

Script to Configure Internet Explorer 8

We are trying to figure out a faster way to configure our user’s IE8 to be able to work with a specific site we use. We were able to add all the Trusted Sites using GPO and enabling our users but wasn’t able to see how to change the custom settings to Enable Active X and to Check and Uncheck specific boxes under the Advanced tab. Anyone know if this is possible with GPO. Maybe someone knows of a script that can be used and we can modify to configure what we need. Here are the details:

Client machine:
* Windows 7 Pro
* IE8

Server:
* Windows 2003 Standard Edition

Unable to load Dynamic Link Library BASDB.DLL on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Windows 7 Professional – 64 bit

Application is 32 bit application.

Application uses Sybase 11 , and ODBC sources

The DLL Basdb.Dll is located in the SYSWOW64 folder but is not loaded when called.

Example of call to DLL.

Alter Procedure “DBA”.”spbossaccountchg” ( in iaction integer, in iid integer )

external name ‘Bossaccountchg@Basdb.Dll’

*****Have added but still fails **

external name ‘Bossaccountchg@Basdb.Dll’ Language C_ESQL32

The application works other than when certain program features call upon the need for the Basdb.dll file. Then it errors.

What may stop this from being successful?

Windows 7 printer pop up box

Hello all,
Our users have recently began to receive a pop up box asking “Do you trust this printer?” with the options to either Install Driver or Cancel. It happens to all users randomly, not every day and not all users. For example, we have a 10 users that get Printer A mapped, 3 may get the pop up while the other don’t. Local permissions don’t make a difference either, some have Admin while some are Power Users. We tried reinstalling the drivers but it only helps for the day at most. Here are some of the details:

** Users
* Windows 7 Professional
* Log on script on each profile to map drives and printers
* Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 v6

**Server (holds drives and printers)
* Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2
* Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

** Printer/Copiers
* Canon iR C2620; iR5070 and iR2870
