Buying Laptop to Run Vmware Workstation

I am planning to buy a laptop. I will primarily run VM Workstation 6 or sometimes VM ware Server on it with one or two guest O/S ( Mostly Linux / Sun Solaris 32 bit for i386). Do you think the below configuration would be enough Intel core 2 duo , 4 GB , 320 GB SATA and a E-Sata ( Lenovo Model ) Please suggest if Lenovo would be good or I should look for another brands I also want to If I may suffer performance degradation even with above configuration because of a single hard disk Thanks in Advance

XenDesktop and Windows 7 configuration

I’ve got XenDesktop configured and working with Windows XP. Now I would like to test
Windows 7 Enterprise. I created the Windows 7
VM, imaged it to a new vdisk on the provisioning server,
then ran the XenDesktop Setup Wizard on the
provisioningserver to create two VMs’, and all that worked fine. The problem I am having is that neither of the two new VM’s I created from my template will boot to the vdisk. They get a DHCP address but then they just sit there with a black screen. My original master Windows 7 image is still set to boot to its hard drive which works fine, but as a test I set it to boot to its vdisk and it did the same thing as the two new ones.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before?

What desktop access do I need to provide 15 virtual desktops to a client?

Virtualization for dummies question. my client has 5 servers and 15 workstations. I do not want to virtualize the servers now since they have vendor applications running on them and I dont want the hassle of upgrade or maintaining these apps. I do want to provide the client 15 virtual desktops however so I can manage their workstations. what do i need to get (what desktop access do i need). I am assuming that I will be hosting all these 15 workstations on a server?

Moving to VMware VDI

Are there any downsides to moving to VMware VDI for my corporate desktop estate? If I use vmware then I can also selectively provide Linux as an alternative desktop to my users.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure for OS X Leopard?

I’ve got VMware Server 1.06 running on Suse 10. I downloaded DiscCloud VMware Appliance and got a OS X Leopard desktop working in about 15 minutes. However, I can’t get the virtual appliance working on ESX. Does it have to be converted? Does anyone know how to do this?
