Can we block access to network neighborhood on Windows XP SP3 using a group policy? Will this block network shares already mapped as mapped drives?

Is it possible to create a drop box for users to be able to copy files into but not view them or the folders contents afterwards. We have an Active Directory 2008 network. What permissions should we grant them or deny them to get this to work?
