If you have Client Access why not use Excel Addins that setup Icons in Excel to bring up a wizard in Excel to download to or from the Iseries. Can be saved fo subsequent downloads. With Excel 2007 need PTF SI26879 for 5722XE1 IF ON v5r4
In order for someone to be able to resolve issues that will inevitably show up they will sometimes need to have top level access to the system that is having the problem. Therefore you will always need to have someone with full access and with that will come some risks.
You can upgrade member servers first without any issues. However when you are preparing to upgrade AD itself you will need to perform the following pre-upgrade steps in this order first before actually adding or upgrading a domain controller: 1 – AD must be running in Windows 2000 or 2003 native mode and not in [...]

Am I mistaken that all other P.C are working fine connecting and that 1 particular P.C is having Problem connecting????So I would then say that the problem may be within that particular P.C. if im correct…. -Check for any recent changes of any I.P address on that P.C(if exist/required).. -Could also try and uninstall Antivirus [...]
I don’t know of a way to do that. In VB 6 a workaround was to use a Check box instead of a button, changing its style to “1 – Graphical” (which makes it look like a button). Then you needed something like this to manage clicks:
Private Sub Check1_Click() If Check1.Value = vbChecked Then [...]
Problem solved: As a home-worker I sit alone in the office, working on myThinkpad with ClientAccess-5250 emulation connected etc.. Today one of my collegues visited my office, and he connected his Portable, and to my surprise, he could see all the option-texts on IBM-commands. This made us investigate my 5250-emulation setup, and it showed up [...]

I’ve never seen a way to tell who deleted anything from a share. It’s always just vanished into the bit bucket. There is no setting or built-in way I know of in any version of Windows to tell you this. I’ve definitely been asked this question by very disgruntled users many times!
I believe you would give their user accounts (or groups) write/modify access and not read/list access.
According to IBM Client Access needs V6R1 of Client Access. If you are just needing TN5250 try mochasoft at www.mochasoft.dk there are 2 versions both have 30 day trial, Try TN5250 for Windows first – I have tried on Windows 7 and it works. That way will work on both XP and Windows 7. If [...]
A little more information: We’re looking to do a roundup of recommended reading for networking professionals. If you have books or other resources you’ve found helpful, either as a general “cookbook,” getting up to speed on a particular topic, or even prepping for a certification exam, it would be great if you could share the [...]

Is the port enabled? If you disconnect the cable from the blade system can you see light coming down the cable?
Sounds like these problem PC’s lose their IP address or LAN connectivity. Check to confirm that their IP address is as expected for this network. If the address is something like 169.254.x.x then the computers are not able to find the DHCP server for the network and have locally assigned addresses. Check the cabling and [...]
Many apps write their data to the registry. Some also install their own libraries and whatnot to other folders. Apps like these will not typically relocate well by just a copy/paste from a backup: they need to be reinstalled. The only *easy* way I have ever seen to transfer these kinds of programs intact is [...]
Windows will look for the DC it has been using first. You turned that one off, so it needs to search for another to authenticate against. If you hae give the DC’s enough time to fully replicate, there would normally be a short delay in finding the new DC, but it should not be long. [...]
So you are not experienced…but hired as a SF developer? Maybe start by getting training. If you are new, you need to know how to administer (security roles and profiles, etc. are important as you move forward.) The 401 class is the declaritive development class (the point and click applicaiton building,) and the 50x are [...]
