Hi, Not sure if this helps, but could it be that you are using Session variables that are not getting killed after use? I’m wondering if this could be the problem. I built a large web-based intranet app for a client using Asp.Net on Win 2003 Server with SQL 2000 backend on separate machine. The [...]
Hi, You can’t just put a 4.4 savsys onto a 5.3 system. If this is an i5 you will need to migrate over the pieces. There are good instructions in appendix D of the Backup and Recovery guide.
UNIX usually is more “thick-skinned” than that. Maybe there are other issues with the UNIX server. Remote possibility that the new access point is also a DHCP server which conflicts with a UNIX DHCP server. You can only have one per segment.
Could you give us some particulars for your servers? For instance, what post-sp6a hotfixes are installed on the server? What service pack is installed for Exchange 5.5? What hotfixes are installed on top of that? Knowing those things will help us determine the possible cause(s) of your issue.
Hi, I’m assuming that you have contacted the application vendor to confirm the inability to map drive C:. Since this is the standard drive letter for a system partition, it seems a little silly to force it to be mapped to a network share. Any chance of knowing the applciation that is causing you the [...]
A Group Policy can be created to limit the functionality of IE. If you are using a Windows 2000 Active Directory you will need to download an update to get this functionality to control IE. If you are using Windows 2003 the policies will already exist. Assigning the policy is the next step. You can [...]
As best as I can tell, you can’t send mail to a user@ip address (I’ve tried it) — the mail daemon does not resolve the host that way. Now, you might consider pointing your SMTP to set the server referred to in your MX record to be your upstream host, but beyond that, I don’t [...]
Are you able to boot it in SAFE mode…??
I’m pretty sure you can’t use MSN Messenger, you have to use the Windows Messenger. MSN Messenger doesn’t support RVP. Download Windows Messenger 5.0 (or 5.1) they both support SIP, RVP and .NET service. David
Hi Yes. The TFRJOB and TFRBCHJOB will transfer the job to the subsystem that the “new” job queue is active in. At one place I worked, the QINTER subsystem would be taken down during maintenance periods and those of us allowed to continue working would use the TFRJOB to move our interactive sessions to the [...]
1. Open the registry and go to ?HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{<CLSID in the event message>} to find out friendly name of this component. In my case, this is “Machine Debug Manager? (CLSID: 0C0A3666-30C9-11D0-8F20-00805F2CD064). 2. Go to Component Services via Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Components Services. Expand the Component Services branch then expand ?Computers?, ?My [...]
I could only find three references to this file — they all dealt with having a secondary language installed (and doing an upgrade) or installing a secondary langauge. If you’ve got a SupportLine contract, I would open a PMR with IBM. They should be able to guide you through recovering the file.

It’s always been goofy, a recall using a reg hack but since the users are TS users, they should be able to shutdown by default. did you create a test dummy account and verify? You should get an error message.
Hi, May be it’s not the right place to make commericals, but when the offered service has a good quality, why not? I’m using the SMS web service from www.ipipi.com. This service is an “intelligent” mail to SMS gateway. You can send your SMS to an email address and they will forward it to mobiles, [...]
1st – Was the old DC 2000 or 2003? Is the new DC SP1? 2nd – Are the printers IP addressed or furnished by local PCs? 3rd – Have you verified the firewall openings for printing? If I had to guess, it would probably be the 3rd question that points to the answer. The new [...]
Depending how they like to work you can add two SMTP addresses to every mailbox using a recipient policy. YOu set company as the default and add a pop3 account to the outlook profile with the company2 address as the e-mailaddress and the replyto address. When sending the user can pick the account they want [...]

Hello Anakin, Roaming profiles are still suppported in both Windows 2000 and 2003 Server. Profiles are configured as an attribute for the user object in active directory and point to a network share located somewhere in the domain. Here is a link that gives a high level overview of the roaming profile technology, as well [...]
