We need to capture network packets for analysis on our Windows server 2003. How can we achieve this and is there a guide to analyzing this data?

Scanning for upgrades to Windows 7
How can we survey our network to determine what if any computers can be upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7? Is there a tool to scan or will we need to run an application on each one? We have AD and can push something out using group policy if this will help.

Excel affecting other windows
When one of the employees that I deal with saves or copies a document in excel, it closes all open windows on the desktop and doesn’t save or copy the document. This issue is intermitant. Any ideas?
