Process works great when single documents/records are sent down.

I have an *AFPDS spool file with a vertical barcode. The program and printer file have not changed and were working correctly previously. Data still prints correctly on a network printer, but the barcode is printed in an incorrect position (overlaying other data) when printed on an HP LaserJet 1100 printer connected to a PC workstation with Personal Communications 5.7. Apparently something in PComm has changed. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Alright, I narrowed down the issue I was having earlier and came up with an entirely new question.

Printer & Drivers for: HP LaserJet 1320n

The duplicate printer error I came across has little or nothing to do with the drivers, it is entirely on Microsoft Retail Management settings. Even after installing the drivers for the printer and making sure that it is printing a single copy it will still send duplicate copies to the printer.

Going through preferences in “Printers and Faxes” the copy preferences are set to print 1 copy.

Going through printer settings in Microsoft RMS the copy preferences are set to print 2 copies…. Yea… and the preferences won’t save no matter what I do. I’ve tried logging in with the managers password, my admin password, and the network/general admin password. None of those will save the settings after closing out the receipt I just printed off.

Any idea’s on how I can get the settings to save in the program to reflect each print job afterwords?

When ever I try to print a receipt or purchase history from Microsoft Retail Management to the HP LaserJet 1320n I get a fun little issue.

The first attempt to send information to the printer does not go through, upon a second attempt the printer will print duplicate orders with the pages printing as 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3. The settings and options for the printer are set as single copy and to not print off that way. I’ve removed the printer, drivers, and port three different times. Plugged the usb cable back into the computer to set it through a plug-and-pray install wizard and the issue is still there. I have the most updated drivers that I was able to find on HP’s website and even ran the driver checker for the printer. As far as I know there are no printer settings (aside from a lable maker) that can be accessed through Microsoft Retail Management.

So… yea, I’m stumped.

My happy little IT motto is, “If all else fails, get some one smarter than you.” So here I am.

Thanks for your time,

Forrest
