How do I prevent 2003 installation attempts after Office 2010 is installed?

I have 2010 office pro installed. Everytime I open it through a document or though start bar, the appropriate 2010 application begins to open. But then, I get the please wait while 2003 install wizard configures. I have to cancel out of the 2003 wizard several times, but I do get to 2010 eventually. Any ideas how to get the 2003 install attempts to stop.

Is there a way to reinstall Office 2003 Pro onto my hard disk after reinstalling clean complete XP Pro. I have valid Product Key but do not have the CD. My PC Manufacturer, Gateway, appears to have under. MS Tech Support says I am out of luck, and will not supply anything.

As part 2 to my question on how to install MS Office when I’ve got Vista on the laptop, at first try, it came up saying that it had to locate Windows XP or Windows 2000 before it could run MS Office on the laptop and it then came up with other errors and would not install from my CDs. Could you advise why it won’t install?
