Mainframe to AS 400

I belong to India & have around 5 years of experience in Mainframe. Now i am asked to shift to AS400. I am not able justify this change. Can anyone suggest whether this can have good future prospects?

DBCS data movement

I have a requirement to select fields from an input file which also contains DBCS fields in addition to alphanumeric. THe fields are separated by tabs. Ofcourse I could use unstring delimter option, but the dbcs data movement is showing errors. Is there any way of conversion b/w dbcs and alphanumeric datatypes

Hex 41 character in mainframe

Hi, I am getting a mainframe file from client which contains many spaces, but one of the space is showing as 41 when I looked at it in hex on mode. Even client is not sure how he got this. Could you please help me what could be the reason behind this issue.

JCL wait command

I want to submit a job. Imbeded in the JCL I want the WAIT command. I want to wait till a second job is completed. I do not know the format of the JCL statment. I am using /* AFTER next_job_name,WAIT
