Outlook 2007 users get an error message that “out of office settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable.” Only way to get out-of-office to work for these 2007 users is going through a web browser into OWA. Then it sets up just fine. How can I get out-of-office assistant to work from within Outlook 2007 for these users?

Hello,

I am currently having a hard time working on one of my client’s ticket. It’s about the OOO of their mail-in database. Our client is requesting to enable the OOO of their mail-in database since, as per her, she has no access to do that. I checked the database then i found out that the OOO is missing. I was palnning to replace the design of the said mail-in db however, I found out that it has different design compare to the other databases. I checked the shared code agents, and I found the OOO agent in there.. Is there any way other than replacing the design to have its OOO set up? I went to other forum and found this solution:

“In the database design .. under “Shared Code”, the option for “Actions”. goto “Tools/Out of Office”..
open the properties of this item and uncheck the “hide action if
formula is true”. This will release the action to be visible. Do this in
template and distribute it to the users using command Load Design at
console.”

I tried to perform this but got no luck, still the OOO is not appearing.. Please help guys! Thanks

Users get frustrated when they send a message to somebody after 10:01 am, then would wait have to wait a long time til they get an Out of Office message by 4pm.

Can somebody please direct me where to change it? Would writing another script or agent solve the issue?
