Opening up links/applications in separate windows from messages in Lotus Notes

My company launches our applicant tracking system (recruiting web site) from a link within lotus notes. It launches it in IE 7. When the applicant tracking system is open, and I try and open a link from one of my emails in Lotus Notes, it opens the link over the window where my applicant tracking system is running. I’d like links to open into seperate windows (or tabs). How do I do this? I’m running Lotus Notes 7.0.3

Invalid Key Value Type

We have existing notes db’s in our lotus notes and one of our users who tend of using one of those is experiencing and error “Invalid Key Value Type” everytime he tries to submit his request using this… Is this application error or some lotus notes glitch?
