Time Difference/duration in Lotus Notes 8 form

I have a form in Lotus 8 where a user inputs a time value in “Field1″. The format they use is MM:SS In “Field2″ they input another time in the same format MM:SS I need to figure out in “Field3″ to calculate the total duration. For example if the first field had 1:30 and the second field had 2:15. The third field will be 3:45.

whenever i add values in a form this values are linked with a view , but the values dont refect in the view . if the same view is seen from designer the values get refected , but not from the client . what would be the reason for the same

Domino 8 Quota Issue

I have a few workstations that are domino 5 that i am migrating to a domino 8 server enviroment. The domino 5 mail files have thier templates updated and copied to the remote workstaions to provide a local mail file that only replicates mail changes at an interval. now my questin is that this all works fine untill i get an message about a quota on the local mail file when i didnt have one set. The servers copy of the mail file is fine and lets me send email with no issues, its just the local mail file that i copied onto the local pcs that is becoming annoying. Is it something to do with the template that they are updating to ? where is this function getting the results fo this message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AppendDocLink Appears To Work Except Launches Wrong Form.

I have multiple forms that when completed send emails with doclinks. All work fine except one form that launches the wrong form when the icon is clicked from an email. The form variable lists the correct alias for the document. The correct form is used when clicked in a view. What am I doing wrong?

Win XP File Registration

I have a program called “IBM Lotus Forms Viewer”. It creates files with the tail .xfdl. There is nothing I can do to get Win XP to recognize the file type and associate the correct program with it. Explorer

Lotus Rich Text Field Contents Displaying

I have a form with two rich text fields. One field a user inputs info and when they save I then take that info and append it to the other field. For some reason after the info is appended when I open the doc in read mode the contents don’t show, however when I goto edit mode the contents do show!! I do not have any “Hide when formulas set”. To make it even stranger I tried a different way of using a seperate form for the user to input the information and then paste it to the main doc when done. When I do it this way the info does show up on the main doc in read mode. When I do a combination of both methods part of the contents show in read mode (parts done with seperate form) and the other parts don’t show, any thoughts on what is happening??

Excel to Lotus Notes Form

I have a Excel workbook with alpha numeric text in a group of cells.

I try and copy the text from those cells directly from Excel into a Lotus Notes 7 form and find that I cannot because Notes is treating the paste as being an object and not text.

The cells in Excel are text formatted….

How do I copy text directly from Excel into a Lotus Notes form without using some 3rd party addon etc.

Please advise

I have developed a form which runs an agent in the background to verify and form is attached if a question is answered Yes. If no, it’s OK to be blank. When my agent runs it returns an error saying “You must provide an item name”

Carlos,

You seem to be the “go to” resource for Lotus. Please take a moment and share some of your thoughts. I am very new to Domino and in way over my head on this request.

I have been asked to display one of several logos on a form based on the company division.

I could use the “Hide If” property of the ‘picture’ but that would make each form objectionably large as it would contain all of the logos. Ideally I do not want to store even the displayed logo with the form if I can avoid it.

My first thought was to put all of the logos on a ‘master’ form then refer back to the master just like a “Computed for display” field does. Unfortunately I could not see how to apply the “Computed for display” principle to pictures.

Another thought was to incorporate some sort of link that would actually display the logo without having to click on it.

Can this even be done or am I trying to do something that is impossible? For what it is worth, we are using version 7.0.
