I have a few workstations that are domino 5 that i am migrating to a domino 8 server enviroment. The domino 5 mail files have thier templates updated and copied to the remote workstaions to provide a local mail file that only replicates mail changes at an interval. now my questin is that this all works fine untill i get an message about a quota on the local mail file when i didnt have one set. The servers copy of the mail file is fine and lets me send email with no issues, its just the local mail file that i copied onto the local pcs that is becoming annoying. Is it something to do with the template that they are updating to ? where is this function getting the results fo this message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am working on Lotus Domino 8.0 and want to create Address Books other than the default names.nsf in the domino\data folder.
Say for City1 -> City1′s Address Book
City2 -> City2′s Address Book

I have followed the below steps
File >> Application >> New -> I have created a new application with “Personal Address Book” i.e pernames.ntf.

In the databse >> ACL >> I have given full access to Notes Admin & Tom (a user)

From Notes Admin’s Notes Client I have done the following

File >> Preferences >> User Preferences >> I have browsed and added “City1′s Address Book” but while saving the same it is prompting

Local Address Book “City1′s Address Book ” does not exist

I am able to open the database from Tom’s Notes Workspace but how to enable Tom to select which Address Book he wants i.e Select a particular Address Book from Multiple Address Books.

Though the database is accessible from his workspace but while creating “New Memo” he is not able to access the contacts / or in general the Address Book at all.

Kindly help me out in the above regards. Thank You in anticipation.

I moved one of my users’ Lotus Notes client from one PC to another, but his local address book did not seem to transfer. I copied his names.nsf file to my flash drive, which had the user’s correct information. Lotus Notes opened up with his names.nsf file on his old PC without a problem, but even when I copied that same file to the new PC, it was still pulling the wrong local address book.

I even opened it up off of my flash drive on both the PC’s. The same file pulled the correct info from the old PC, but the wrong info from the second PC. Can anyone tell if there is something in C: Notes that is wrong, because this file is supposed to pull from a network drive?

I have developed an internal Domino database and deployed it on one of our servers in India. I wanted to know how to use the groups defined in our corporate address book for database ACL, what the steps are and what the prerequisites are for using groups in a database.

I can add users defined in our corporate address book by simply searching for them and clicking “add” in my database ACL. However, I am facing some challenges while adding group ACLs to this database. I have a mailing group defined in my address book. We also have a mailing group “Lab Services & Solutions-India” defined in our WW Public Distribution List database, which is replicated to our corporate address book every day. I want to use this group to define access permission’s in the internal Domino database hosted in our ISLPune Server.

I tried adding the entry in the database ACL as a group, but that is not working. I checked with our Notes/Domino administrator regarding the ISLPune server, but he mentioned that since the corporate address book is not replicated to this server, it would not be able to resolve names present in this mailing group. The option of recreating a group in the ISLPune server would not help as every time a change is made on the original group list, changes would need to be made manually, and the updates would not be replicated. Do we have option of replicating our IBM address book, and also, would that be helpful provided we have a group defined in the WW Public Distribution List database?

We need to roll out this database asap, can anyone sugges tot me a possible workaround to create/replicate/use the mailing group for the database.
