• How do I test if a port is open on a remote system?

A while back, I used telnet to check if a port on my remote post was open. But at my new job, the systems don't have telnet installed / all outbound connections to host are blocked. Does anyone know of a way to see if a port is open on a remote system? I'm using Linux. Thank you.
