How can we setup a test plan for testing Windows 7 and all of our legacy applications and hardware? Is there a procedure guide for this?

What can you do about an app that is not working right on Windows 7?

If an
application is not running properly on Windows 7 what options do I have to
try and troubleshoot it to figure out why it is not working? Are there any
easy fixes? What does compatibility mode do?

Get a legacy application working on Windows 7 so we can upgrade.

We want
to upgrade our desktops to win 7 from XP and our main ERP system Mas 500 by
Sage does not support it. Is there a work around or other simple solution to
get this going?

How to implement oracle single sign-on with a legacy application

I have set up a user for external authentication in the database. I am able to login to the oracle database sqlplus /@dbname and it uses my windows account. But when I try to login to the application I get an error of a null password. Are there any other applications/tools that are necessary to implement this? How is the password passed to the application? Thanks in advance. Pguin

Excel 2003 docs now won’t open in Excel 2007

I created som docs using Excel 2003. New computer has Excel 2007 installed and now when I open the docs they are unreadable. Any help would be appreciated.

Will Lotus 123 ver 9.5 work on Win XP on a Core 2 Duo processor?

I have a fully functional set of 123 applications that run successfully under Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 4550. I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 530 with Win XP and while the application appears to run okay, my legacy spreadsheets have errors all over them.

The sheet to sheet links will not resolve properly and return error results instead of fetched values. I set up a new sheet and tried to create new links thinking something happened during the file imports, but the newly created links fail aswell.

I was led to believe that Win XP on a core2duo processor was backward compatible with older versions of software running on standard intel processors. Now I am beginning to wonder.

I am running Lotus 123 as part of Smartsuite 9.5. I have a preinstalled verions of Win XP, SP3. The specific cell syntax that fails is:

+<>A:A1

This instruction tells the current sheet to locate oldfilename.123 in the 123files folder and fetch the contents from cell A1 on sheet A. This works perfectly on my older Dell 4550.

Does anyone know of any patches or updates that can be obtained to make this version of Lotus123 work on a Core2Duo version of the Dell Inspiron processors>

Older Program Compatibility CAD

I have a 1997 CAD program that is fine with XP, but with my new computer and Vista, when I select “FILE”, “SAVE”, the program simply exits!!?? I have the compatibility set to Windows 97 SP. In all other respects, the program functions correctly. Someone advised, in answer to this previously, that I should run another program that essentially fakes-out Vista. I wrote down the name of the program, but lost it and the answer provided is no longer linked to my original inquiry.
