I am looking at having multiple networks created at the same premise. Each one will run a zone with work stations and servers. I am a bit confused between multiple routers and a layer 3 switch ? What do you guys suggest ?

Adding an IP Subnet to a VLan on L3 Switch
I need help adding an IP subnet to a Vlan, when I attempt to by using the IP address X.X.X.X 255.255… it gives me an error saying it overlaps another VLAN. is there another way to do this? I am on a 3750 cisco switch, IP routing is turned on. Please help!!! thanks in advance.

When I am trying to put the default gateway in layer 2 switches with ip default-gateway xxxxx commnd it ok. But If I’m trying to put the default-gateway in 3560(layer 3) switches with ip default-gateway xxxxxxx command its giving me error that invalid command

Performance of Cisco 3750 Layer 3 switch
Hi guys, I have a cisco 3750 series L3 switch. It can currently handle 3GB of L2 traffic with no problem, but when faced with 40MB of L3 traffic, CPU utilization shot so high that I can’t even telnet to the switch. Could anyone enlighten me please? Thanks in advance!!
