How to configure IP SLA using two routers

I know the IOS must support IP SLA, is there a minimum IOS version requirement?
I know the Cisco IOS must support IP SLA, is there a minimum IOS version requirement? This is specific for the monitoring of MOS scores.

IP SLA
I have two routers, one 1721 ( version 12.4) and 2801 (version 12.3T). I want to configure IP SLA, but when i write the command in the CLI router# ip sla, the commmand does not exist. What happened? how active the comand? thanks
