Looking at general VoiP deployment and IP telephones, I see a wide reference to Gigabit ethernet almost as if it is the standard interface. It is being specified in tender responses as a must have. Reality seems to indicate that Gigabit to the desktop is not standard and rarely used in enterprises exeptions being to power users.

Given the fact that Gigabit ethernet adaptors use significantly more power presently is this just vendors leading us along the technology for the sake of it, and the IT herd instinct doing the rest.

So please tell me where it is being used in Voip related deployments?

We are on the CUCM 6.1 – I have a phone where the vm light and prompt is not working. I don’t believe it’s the phone because I rebuilt a new phone and am getting the same issue. The other phones at her office do have this issue and each one is setup the same. Is there something outside of the phone setup causing this? I have the Visual Message Waiting Indicator Policy set to “use system policy” and even tried setting this to light and prompt which still did not work. Any idea’s?
