When saving excel and word documents from windows 7 64 bit pc to ifs folder on iseries v6r1, it keeps trying to contact the server and then hangs up, anyone know why?

Hi,

I’m developing an web application where users can access files within a folder in IFS on as400.i’ve created a map network drive to that folder but i can’t access it through c# (\\remoteserverfolder). it says that this path does not exist or access is denied, this because i don’t know how to pass the credentials to the open process of directoryinfo. Can anyone please help me. All i want to do is pass the credentials that the user should fill when a prompt form appears and then open the folder and view the files.

I would like to know how to find the the size of individual IFS link and also Folder. Is there any tool or script for that ?

I have a file in my IFS folder with size 2GB.I want to move or copy this file to another server…is there any command in i series to exceute other than FTP ing the file .Please let me know your thoughts on this.

Retrieve the file names in IFS folder to a physical file

I got one scenario, in that I need to retrieve the file names including the Dates from IFS folder to a Physical File. From that PF, I need to delete the files older than 15 days. Is there any way to do that?

Moving a PDF file from the IFS directory to a Windows server

We are converting a spool file into a PDF report and storing it in the IFS directory. We are trying to MOV or CPY from the IFS directory (/POREPORTS/’) to the windows server. (‘/QNTC/SKYWALKER/POARCHIVE’) I get the following error: The CCSID of the target file could not be set to match the CCSID of the Source file. Any suggestions?

I would like to save a PDF object to the IFS. I am looking for basic information on “how to” get things to, and from, the IFS. Is there a good website for this? Or can someone give me some basic code to send a pDF object to a directory? Right now, I am just playing around with cmds in a CL and then calling the CL, just to get my PDF object to the IFS. The PDF is going to be on a network drive, which is right now called our G Drive, what is available to everyone on the network. I am trying to pull a PDF file that I put there, and send it to a directory on the IFS. I am not sure if I can do this calling the CL program, or if I need to do a loging, such as you do when you FTP. I tried CPYTOSTMP and now I tried CPY. So as you can see, I just need some basic starting information on how to even use the IFS.
