I want to copy a spool file to the IFS. I tried ===> CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(FILES/SPRINT198) TOSTMF(‘print/testprint.txt’) STMFCCSI D(*STDASCII) RCDDLM(*CRLF) DTAFMT(*FIXED) and I got garbage –

Hi , i have a text file in IFS which have some data. Now after reading i want to replace all occurance of xyz with abc and update the ifs file .Everything is working fine except updation . The problem is with pointer setting , everytime the data is appended in file rather than replacing ..I am using _C_IFS_fopen,_C_IFS_fgets,_C_IFS_fputs apis.

Please suugest how can i set the pointer to write date to exact position replacing the old one …

AS400 – FTP

Hi
I have a file in my IFS folder with size 2GB.I want to move or copy this file to another server…is there any command in i series to exceute other than FTP ing the file .Please let me know your thoughts on this.

How do you data in a QTXTSRC member on the IFS in order to FTP it from a dos prompt or in a CLP? I created a stream file but I am receiving “File not found” when I run the get command.

CL to change object owner of files in IFS whose directory name changes monthly

We have a vendor software package the creates a new directory each month in the IFS – ie /photos/201001 for January 2010. Documents are stored in the directory for a given month and are owned by the user who created them. We would like to write a cl that can be run monthly to change the object owner for the files in the prior months folder. Having problems using a variable in the path name.

Hi , I have a PF abc in my library ,now i want to move it to IFS directory /home/xzy. I am using CPYTOIMPF with TOSTMF option as /home/xzy/abc.txt but it is failing saying “The copy did not complete for reason code 11″..please help

I would like to save a PDF object to the IFS. I am looking for basic information on “how to” get things to, and from, the IFS. Is there a good website for this? Or can someone give me some basic code to send a pDF object to a directory? Right now, I am just playing around with cmds in a CL and then calling the CL, just to get my PDF object to the IFS. The PDF is going to be on a network drive, which is right now called our G Drive, what is available to everyone on the network. I am trying to pull a PDF file that I put there, and send it to a directory on the IFS. I am not sure if I can do this calling the CL program, or if I need to do a loging, such as you do when you FTP. I tried CPYTOSTMP and now I tried CPY. So as you can see, I just need some basic starting information on how to even use the IFS.

Triggering the print of a PDF from the AS400

I need to print a PDF file, to a pre-defined outq, triggered from the AS400. In this case, when a barcode is scanned on the AS400. The outq is static, and the name of the PDF file is static. I am thinking that I can store the PDF in the IFS? not sure, I am looking for information on how to do this a simple way. Particularly the code to get the PDF file sent. maybe using SQL? Please help
