Internet Explorer 7 problems

I have a PC that is freezing up all the time. The Task Manager “process” state that the “iexplorer.exe” is going above 80% and the CPU Usage is “100%”. Most of my time, I am not using Internet Explorer. I am currently using IE 7.

Is this issue because IE 7? Should I downgrade to IE 6? Would this help solving the problem?

Profile permissions to use drop down icons in Internet Explorer 7

Could this be a profile problem for the first user and his profile has to be rebuilt. User [strong]cannot[/strong] use drop down icons in internet7.0 but another user logs on the same he has no problem with the drop down icons.

We have Windows 2008 Server and all workstation have IE7. We want to set upTrusted Sites in IE7 via group policy for all workstations. How do i enable this option on windows server 2008 and the workstations.

The update server is set to automatically sync with woindows update every day at 12:15am. It is also set to automatically approve updates. I believe there may be some kind of connection issue because some of the machines, the other servers include, are reporting ” This computer has not reported status in 62 days”. I’m not sure what this means exactly.

I Need to test my site on both IE8 and IE7.Curretly i am planing to test my website by using IE8-developer tools-Swich between
‘Browser Mode :IE7 ,Document Mode: IE7 Standards’ to ‘Browser Mode :IE8 ,Document Mode: IE8 Standards’ .Is this reliable , if not I am going to use my old methods like using virtual machines (only one browser in one machine). Please advice me.

IE 8 JavaScript eval() Problem. Alternative?

Just installed IE 8 and some of my code on sites where I use eval() has broken. I use some eval functions and IE 8 is giving me an ‘object requied’ error. Code works in IE 7 and IE 8 when running in compatibility mode. I think this is an example of a code block that is giving me trouble. I need some help correcting this.

I am getting object required on this line: y.style.height=parent.document.body.scrollHeight-61 + ‘px’;

Which could only mean parent.document.body.scrollHeight or y is invcorrect. I am going with y since I was reading about ie 8 and eval having issues. Is there a workaround?
