Are there any commercial security programs that will secure the query function on the as400?

We have user menus that keep users from viewing and changing critical files.

However, we also have users who go into query and save the results of the query anywhere on the system. I’m concerned that someone will save the results of a query and overwrite an existing file.

I can’t change the authorities on our files because this might interfere with our existing programs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Problems with AFP respool in mapping program redpaper Infoprint server/Psf

We work with the mapping program of the Ibm redpaper Printing VII. Everything works without problems (creating PDF and respool PDF) except the AFP respool does not work. We get no error messages en there are no joblogs. The AFPOUTQ keeps empty.

Who can help us please with this problem.

I have 3 files with a common layout in a common library on the i5.

The source files (query results) have different definitions so I am unable to append the result of query2 to query1.

So what I want is to perform a UNION or concatenate them into a single download file.

I have tried a UNION but keep gettting syntax errors.

Need to display a PDF on i5

I need to display a PDF file that was created using OVRPRTF with WSCST(*PDF) on the user’s i5 screen. I have tried IFS command DSPF but only garbage displays. This program used to do a DSPSPLF but we had to change it to use an overlay and only the data shows (none of the text of the overlay) when you do DSPSPLF. Is there a solution? Thanks!

We want to email letters that we currently are printing off the I5..We have scanned the signature on to the I5..how can we include this signature at the bottom of each letter to be emailed?

How do I copy a spooled file listing into a member of a source physical file?

I accidentally deleted the source member, but have a spooled copy taken via option 6. I would like to convert the spooled file back into the deleted member.

I’m calling the following in a job submitted from the job scheduler CALL QP2SHELL PARM(‘/Sites/PCF/sftp2pcf.sh’) I continue to receive the error i5/OS PASE program not found or in use. I have confirmed the name of the script in the ifs and there are no locks on it. Why can’t it find the script to run?
