I opened an excel attachment in hotmail and started editing, i saved it continuously but when I closed excel and reopened the file was gone… i;m running office 2007 and win 7 64bit

Hello!Can anybody tell me why when I save an attached document from a received hotmail.com e-mail it saves the document as internet explorer shortcut but not as proper document file?

Sending mail fails with a 80040201 error. Receiving mail (from Hotmail using POP3) works fine. By the way, password must be 16 characters or less. The Information Store Viewer utility (MDBVU32) does not show a Read Receipt waiting to be sent. Any other ideas?
