Hi,

I am trying to connect to HMC using client access. On the configure PC5250 screen I use the following:

a Update the System Name to the HMC host name or TCP/IP address. b Set the port number to 2300. c Press the Properties button.

The properties button will launch the Connection dialog shown below. Do the following: a Set the User ID sign on information to Use default User ID, prompt as needed . b Set the User ID to Q#HMC . c Set the Security to Not secured . d Click OK , OK

When I click on connect, the emulator prompts me to put the password for Q#HMC.In normal circumstances it should never prompt for the Q#HMC password and instead straightly give the ‘Welcome to HMC remote 5250 Console’ from where the HMC console can be accessed.

But instead it keeps on prompting for the Q#HMC password.

I was able to access the HMC Console earlier from the very same laptop. But recently this has stopped working and instead started prompting for Q#HMC Password.

Please can somebody help me on this.

Many Thanks

Hughes Williams
