• Move Exchange Internet Addresses container from default location

Is it OK to move the "Internet Addresses" container, which is found in Active Directory (AD) and used by the Exchange global address list (GAL), to another container other than where it resides on a default basis (inside the "Users" container)?

  • Adding external contacts to GAL in Exchange 2003

We are a school and want to start e-mailing parents with information. We have their e-mail addresses in another application so presumably I would have to export these as a CSV file but how can I have them showing as a Distribution List in the GAL without creating individual accounts for each parent...

Is it possible to lock down a distribution list so that only certain people can send to the distribution list? Or is the only way to stop people sending to it be taking the List of the GAL?
