I want to read & write same flat file(CSV).For eg.If I have flat file structure in this way 1′PL’,'ABC’ 2 ‘PL’,'DEF’ 3′PP’,'BGC’ In this I am reading only PL type of records.If it is PL type like ‘ABC’then i am doing some processing & writing ‘PL’,'RIC’ record in to the same.After writing the record pointer will come at the end of file,but for the second read my pointer should be at ‘DEF’.How will i set my pointer at 2 differant levels in same flat file for read & write .

Question is:

I have a shell script written for moving the flat file from FTP server(Windows Operating System) to SAP Application server (Linux Operating System). I donot have a access to execute that script at linux level but i can write a ABAP program to execute the same so that the script will move the flat file from remote server(FTP) to local server (App server). I requesting, could you plz provide me the ABAP code to call the script? Also i have a no.of questions to ask. i will come one by one.

Why only asking sandeep means. He posted a newsletter that how to move a file from one folder to another folder. i am expecting the similar answers. also, i beleive somebody also could do. hope its not hurting anybody. sorry.

Visual Basic Login form and second form load

I am building an application that uses a username/passworm form for login and want to load from a flat file info relevant to the username entered in the login form. Will the code for the reading of the flat file go in the form_load of my second form this is the code I am trying to develop with no success:

Substring A Packed Field

Hello I have a flat record format that I move into an external data structure. Within the external data structure, I have many packed fields. Rather than refer to each of pacekd field by external field name, I would like to be able to substring each packed field out, and then, move the value of each packed field into an array. Can any one help me out with this ? Hi,, M25 is one of my flat file which is 34 char length. I want to write data from flat file to normal pf. Pf contains 3 char field which is equally devide.

Now generaly to read file we have to requre key field but flat file doesn’t have any key field then how i will write this pf?

Hi, all I have no familiarity with DB2, but plenty in Oracle and SQL Server and other RDMS. In Oracle, I can access a flat file on disk by defining it as an External File. Similar functionality in SQL Server. My question then: Does DB@ on the mainframe have the same type of feature? Thanks in advance!
