check to ensure he is logging to the domain and not a local account. Also, check and see if he as a local or roaming profile. It is possible he is logging on without pulling the correct profile. Verify authentication after log in by running the set command from a command prompt. This will identify [...]
Looks like your user has lost their profile. Log in as someone else and check to see if there are more than one folder under documents and settings for the user having the issue. If you are lucky the users profile is still there and the pc created a new one. I have had issues [...]
As long as it is not the last DC on the network you should be fine with removing it. The instructions for removal are below: Removing Active Directory Use the same application to remove Active Directory that you use to install it — the Active Directory Installation Wizard. When you start the wizard on a [...]
Here are the instructions and I believe the first step is your issue. It needs to be hosted on Exchange and not just have the pst’s on the server. This feature requires you to use a Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account. You can share your e-mail, calendar, tasks, notes, and journal with other Outlook users [...]
It is simply emptying the deleted folder on the schedule that is set. If you want to change it or just to know how it works here is some good information: The Deleted Items folder should be emptied on regular basis to help preserve your account quota and to keep your account organized. For more [...]
You can try creating a rule. Start with a blank rule and select “with specific words in the sender’s address” and put the name of the domain you want to redirect and then tell it to move it to a specified folder. Create a new folder for it and name it whatever you like. That [...]
I believe it has to do with the type of authentication methods you are allowing on your Exchange IIS virtual directory. On ours, we have integrated Windows authentication turned off, and basic authentication on. This forces a username/password prompt for our users when they go to our OWA site. –Koohiisan
If you recently upgraded from 2003 or earlier to exchange2007, your user needs to include the domain name in his log in. i.e. before username:username after username:domainusername
One option is, on the mailing tab, Select Recipients in the mail merge area, then choose Outlook Contacts – this is a bit cumbersome for one contact though…. tbh, i don;t know of another way. your boss may be referring to the address book icon. Once you add this icon to the toolbar you can [...]
I ran across this same problem a couple years ago. The problem was that the NLB appliances did not support FBA (Forms Based Authentication). I was told that without FBA, OWA would not work because, in essence, the http datastream is being split mid-conversation between the two OWA servers. It’s definitely worth investigating your NLB [...]
Unfortunately not in Exchange 2003 as far as I know, no. This IS something you can do with transport rules in Exchange 2007 however. Perhaps it is time to consider upgrading?
It depends, if you have added the calendar item in then they will not get an invite, as they are the organiser, all they will get is the default 15min reminder before the meeting/event is due. Unless they frequently check there calendar, then they may see the appoint a few days in advance; however what [...]
Replication Monitor – replmon. See this Microsoft Technet article.
This is likely due to having a PST (personal storage table) file on one machine and not the other. PST’s are not supported on network shares so are kept local on a workstation.
The two ways that I know are pains in the butt, but it can be done. Method One (the wipe): 1) Before starting, back-up your BB data 2) Next, turn off only the calendar synchronization either on the server or desktop- wherever you set your sync options. 3) Wipe the Handheld (Options > Security > [...]
I agree- that is the default behavior for Outlook and there’s no way (that I’ve every heard of) to make Outlook think otherwise. There could be a possible work-around though. I believe that with the pre-Outlook Exchange 5.5 client, permissions were set all the way down a folder tree. The Exchange 5.5 client will open [...]
You shouldn’t have to reinstall Outlook, you can always try a new or test profile it could very well be a corrupt profile depending on the size of the inbox. Can you ping and browse the server? . . Another possibility is that someone has turned off remote registry and RPC services on the server [...]
Well, we got the NLB to work by connecting the second onboard NICs and setting it up as unicast. That’s fine, but there is one configuration issue that doesn’t match the instructions. The network settings for the NICs to be used for the NLB are supposed to be configured with IP address and subnet mask [...]
I’m also interested in knowing how to do this as well.
I do not suspect a bot. Instead I suspect that these users are receiving messages due to backscatter. Take a look at this similar question by another member. Also, see this for more detailed information about backscatter. You don’t really need to spend a lot of time looking for a bot issue as this is [...]
