I have searched high and low and can not find a delete bulk mailbox
with powershell example. I have been trying to put it together from
several other examples but no luck do far. Here is a sample of what I
have tried:

[PS] C:>$mb = Get-Mailbox -Database qt-mbx-cls.oberonmedia.localchina | select
Alias | Remove-Mailbox -Identity Alias -Permanent $true -Confirm:$false -whatif

I have also tried various foreach loops, but no matter what I try, I just get errors

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Exchange 2003 Mailbox

Hello,
I am not that strong in exchange and i cant seem to find the answer to my problem. I have a user that has been married and wants her mailbox to be under her new name and wants if people email her old email account they go to her new box. How would i complete this, and is it possible.

I’m looking for a way to detect if a message in the inbox is internal mail, incoming or outgoing mail.

First it seemed that checking for ‘DeliveredDate’ would do the thrick. Outgoing mail doesn’ t has this item….but neither has internal mail…

Anybody has an idea?

How to enable searching or indexing on a shared Outlook mailbox

We use a shared mailbox at work for my team. All incoming requests (12000 emails a month believe it or not!) for my team are mailed to this shared mailbox. This mailbox then has seperate folders for each month where we file the emails once we complete the request. The issue we are having is that it is rather cumbersome to try and use the search feature as you can only search one folder at a time with a shared mailbox. At one point I played around with indexing options locally on my machine and was able to go to (within Outlook) Tools -> Instant Search -> Advanced Find -> then select the shared mailbox’s inbox and also have the ability to check the ‘Include Subfolders’ option. This worked great! But I cannot remember how I did it… The ‘Include Subfolders’ option is greyed out after I received a new machine and I don’t have the old one to contrast and compare. Whatever I did last time it was done locally and not on the Exchange server. I believe that I was able to somehow index the shared mailbox even though it is stored on the Exchange server, is there a way to create an .ost file for a shared mailbox so that we would have a copy locally to search? I am open to any solutions that would enable this for my team.

Exchange 2003 Mailbox quota/permissions

Hopefully you guys can help me out on this problem!

I have 3 types of email address

A – Standard email address using high availablility links
B – Email addresses which have very low bandwidth (radio links)
C – Mail enabled contacts with low bandwidth (56k max)

Each account is in their own OU within AD and i wish to set the following

A – Maximum message sent to them to be 5Mb
B – Maximum message sent to be text only
C – Maximum message sent to and from them to be 500kb

I want to limit who can send to B and C by hopefully creating a group and assigning it to the addresses. Is any of this possible and easily managed? i can set the mailbox quotas on each address individually but obviously thats an admin nightmare! i want to use OUs as much as possible

SBS2003 Migration of Single Mailbox

Hello,

I currently have an SBS2k3 server running Exchange with 5 users/mailboxes. We bought a 2nd server and it is also running SBS2k3 and Exchange.

We would like to move only one of the user’s mailboxes to the new server. The new server will contain only this one user’s mailbox.

I am new to Exchange and e-mail administration in general. (Been a *nix and storage guy forever.)

Can you please give me an idea of what I will need to do to accomplish this?

Any information would be very much appreciated.

how to obtain a list of all mailboxes in distribution lists and sub-lists or sub-sub

We are using Exchange Server 2003 and have an “All” universal distribution list named “Community” but individuals want the ability to unsubscribe. To prepare for this, the administration requests that I provide a list of every mailbox in “Community” but I am not aware of any Exchange or Active Directory report program to do this.

Mailbox name didn’t change

User changed name from Gloria A to Gloria B, so I made the changes in AD Users and Computers. In the store, her mailbox is now Gloria B, but when she opens Outlook it shows Gloria A. How do I change the mailbox name as displayed in Outlook?
Seems simple, but not to me. Thanks. (W2K Adv Svr, Exch Svr 2003 Std, Outlook 2003)
