Adding presence information to Exchange 2003 users

How can we add presence information to our Exchange 2003 users? We want to show availability next to each email address on our domain.

I am not sure if this is called “multiple sender address”.

Say I have 2 email addresses – abc@a.com and abc@b.com. In Exchange 2003 when you set abc@a.com as the default email address, you would not able to switch to abc@b.com to the sender address.

Has these been change in Exchange 2010?

I have Exchange 2003 with Outlook 2007. I have several users who have left the company. If I delete the user in AD, is the mailbox and it contents automatically deleted? If the user is disabled, I don’t think the mailbox is deleted, but how would I get in there to delete out email? What is the best way to handle this? If nothing else mailboxes that still exist will accumulate junk mail.

when i try to create new accounts on my domain in active directory I can make them but my active directory skips the step that allows me to add them to my exchange server and make the email account. i just installed active directory on this computer and i am able to make email account/ user accounts on other computers with active directory. Yhank you for your help

Microsoft Exchange Active Directory

I am new to the IT field so please keep that in mind when you answer…

I have a user who is attempting to use the From field in Microsoft Outlook to show Purchasing instead of her email address when she sends out an email but the email keeps getting bumped when she sends it.

On Microsoft Exchange in Security/Distribution in Purchasing she is set as a Member of that Group.

Everyone else that is a member of that group can access that feature and send the email as Purchasing but her.

I am not seeing where the differences in the users are but like I said I am new to all of this so I am probably not looking in the right place.

Can anyone please provide advice or instructions on fixing this issue.

Exchange 2003 – Forward disabled user emails to Active user

Exchange 2k3/Server 2k3 – Having disabled a former employee’s AC profile, looking to forward emails rec’d by the former employee to the new employee. Cannot add the the email address via SMTP (get multiple SMTP addresses error). Adding the new employee as a forwarding option in AC’s Exchange General – Delivery Options does not work either. This might be a rhetorical question, but do I need to give the new employee rights to the disabled employee employee’s mailbox (Exchange Advanced – Mailbox Rights)?
