I would quickly contact your exchange administrator and let him know what is occurring in your Outlook. They may need to change some of the permissions on your account.
Be sure that when you import it, you have his calendar checked and not yours. By doing this, only his calendar will be showing and the import should take to that calendar. The same thing would happen if you happen to have other calendars open.

There are some ways to backup emails from Gmail to PST Outlook file format and a number of tools to help you. Personally I prefer SysTools Gmail backup tool which supports backup Gmail emails and the ability to export all Gmail emails to a local hard.
