Hi

I am in the process of transitioning from Ex2003 to Ex2010. We have a very simple exchange structure at the moment. just a single exchange 2003 server all running of one box.

i have seen various blogs/articles on the transitioning from ex 2003 to ex 2010 and i think i am partly the way there. So far i have got the 2 virtual servers running one with ex 2010 CAS/HUB and another with Ex2010 Mailbox role. a lot of the settings have pulled over from the ex2003 server (connectors etc)

Iv not really had to do anything to the CAS/HUB server so far on the mailbox server i have moved a few test mail boxes and also created some new ones. they seem to send e mails correctly and recieve them from internal and external so i know the mail flow settings are ok.

We use OWA on out exchange 2003 – is there anything that needs to be done for OWA on 2010.

i have got the PF replicating from 2003 to 2010.

some information i would like is about how Recipent update policy works in 2010 and how to move it over from 2003 and also about Address Lists.

the thing i want to know about RUS is we have it set in exchange 2003 to add the various address and formats normally first.surname@domain.com. but we have also manually added addresses that are not part of the RUS eg. first@domain.com or initials@domain.com when i move this policy over to the ex 2010 server will it re apply the policy and wipe addresses added manually to the users?

any help would be much appciated

Thanks

I am transitioning an Exchange 2003 server to an Exchange 2010 server. As soon as I got the Exchange 2010 server up and going, I changed the paths of the DBs and the PublicFolder DB. I then also renamed the Default Public Folder from PublicFolderDatabase0224351747 to PFdb. Everything was going great, and everything sees the new name I assigned to the DB. So, I got to the stage where you right click the Public Folder Store on the Exchange 2003 box and select Move All Replicas. It showed the PFdd and I selected. However, the replication never worked. When I drilled down, I noticed the messages in the queue for the server-to-server connector. I drilled down to the message and noticed it is addressed to PublicFolderDatabase0224351747@blablabla.com instead of PFdb@blablabla.com. I have checked everywhere and I cannot seem to figure out why it is still referencing the old PF database name. Any ideas?
