Disable Outlook rules and alerts through Exchange 2007 & PowerShell

Is there a way to find and disable/delete any rules and alerts on a mailbox using powershell or VB to query an exchange server?  Could someone enlighten me as to the format of the powershell command(s). Thanks Michael Software/Hardware used: Windows XP and Exchange 2007
